SUMMARY:24-Hour Gaming Marathon @ Phoenix
DESCRIPTION:This year we are changing up our 24 hour gaming marathon. We will be supporting Lambert House! In partnering with them\, they have graciously provided us with a link to send donations. \nA little about Lambert House\nLambert House empowers lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, transgender\, and questioning (LGBTQ+) youth\, ages 10-22\, through the development of leadership\, social\, and life skills. By making a donation\, you can ensure that Lambert House’s efforts to safeguard and uplift LGBTQ youth continue and grow to meet the ever-increasing need in our region. \nWebsite: https://www.lamberthouse.org/\nFacebook: http://www.facebook.com/lamberthouse/ \nThis event replaces our typical monthly board game event at Phoenix Comics & Games in November. This event runs the whole weekend drop in and out as you want. Bring a friend\, or a group of friends. The event is all ages and open to anyone. Individually\, we will be bringing special selections of games from our personal collections to play\, and some games that only make it to the table once per year. \nThe store does allow food and (non-alcoholic) drinks. If you require accommodation for health reasons\, please let us know ahead of time and we can try to work something out. \nThe event runs from 10AM-10PM on Saturday and Sunday (and to be fair\, we don’t always make it to 10PM) – we do not do 24 hours all at once. This is very flexible – while we encourage people to attend the whole time who want to\, or attend when you want and are able. While this event is in person\, feel free to share the above donation link far and wide\, and if you feel like streaming or playing elsewhere you are welcome to! SUMMARY:Extra Life Marathon 2024
DESCRIPTION:Join our team HERE \nThe Extra Life Marathon is coming up\, where we game for 24 hours to raise money for Seattle Children’s Hospital. We’ve started with a $3000 goal but can always raise it! \nPlease note this event replaces our typical monthly board game day at Phoenix in November. \nCurrently\, Phoenix is no longer requiring masks or vaccination in the store (though masks are still encouraged if you want to wear them\, and we’d prefer our participants be vaccinated). The store allows food and (non-alcoholic) drinks again. If you require accommodation for health reasons\, please let us know ahead of time\, and we can try to work something out. \nWe do this event from 10 AM-10 PM on Saturday and Sunday – we do not do 24 hours all at once. This is very flexible – while we encourage people to attend the whole time who want to\, it is on the honor system for team members to fit in their 24 hours and can certainly attend when you are able. \nIf you are not a team member raising money\, you are still welcome to join at any time to play games\, but we would request you donate to Extra Life (however small the amount) if you are able. Of course\, if you want to participate virtually\, you are welcome to join our team and do the gaming on your own. There are no regional limitations for participating virtually\, and virtual participants can fit in their gaming anytime convenient for them in the calendar year. But of course\, we encourage folks to join us in person! \nLet us know if you have any questions and feel free to join the team! (Please note: if you want to join the team\, you MUST join via the link above.) \nWe’ll be providing (and highly recommend wearing) nametag stickers that indicate gender pronouns. SUMMARY:Extra Life Marathon 2023
DESCRIPTION:Join our team HERE \nThe Extra Life Marathon is coming up\, where we game for 24 hours to raise money for Seattle Children’s Hospital. We’ve started with a $3000 goal but can always raise it! \nPlease note this event replaces our typical monthly board game day at Phoenix in November. \nCurrently\, Phoenix is no longer requiring masks or vaccination in the store (though masks are still encouraged if you want to wear them\, and we’d prefer our participants be vaccinated). The store allows food and (non-alcoholic) drinks again. If you require accommodation for health reasons\, please let us know ahead of time\, and we can try to work something out. \nWe do this event from 10 AM-10 PM on Saturday and Sunday – we do not do 24 hours all at once. This is very flexible – while we encourage people to attend the whole time who want to\, it is on the honor system for team members to fit in their 24 hours and can certainly attend when you are able. \nIf you are not a team member raising money\, you are still welcome to join at any time to play games\, but we would request you donate to Extra Life (however small the amount) if you are able. Of course\, if you want to participate virtually\, you are welcome to join our team and do the gaming on your own. There are no regional limitations for participating virtually\, and virtual participants can fit in their gaming anytime convenient for them in the calendar year. But of course\, we encourage folks to join us in person! \nLet us know if you have any questions and feel free to join the team! (Please note: if you want to join the team\, you MUST join via the link above.) \nWe’ll be providing (and highly recommend wearing) nametag stickers that indicate gender pronouns. DESCRIPTION:This is a chance to meet up for some LGBTQ-flavored (allies also welcome) gaming and socializing. Some things to be aware of (these are store policies): \n\nYou must be prepared to show proof of vaccination. A photo on your phone (or similar) is sufficient.\nMasks are required (N95 rated mask OR double-mask recommended).\nAttendance may be capped but that shouldn’t affect us as the cap is pretty high (currently 44\, currently slated to be 52 starting April 1st)\nWhile drinks are allowed\, food is not allowed.\n\nThese are subject to change depending on how things progress\, but please respect these policies (or however they are updated before the event) if you attend. Here is more information. \nWe start at 1 but feel free to drop by when you are able! It’s nothing formal. This meetup happens one Saturday a month. Phoenix has been lovely enough to offer their space for gaming. Their space is on Broadway in Capitol Hill next to Dick’s. The gaming space is in the back of the store.\nThey have a selection of demo games. I’ll bring some games and definitely bring things you’d like to play (and feel free to mention any requests or games you want to bring). \nYou are welcome to bring your own (non-alcoholic) drinks\, but they do sell (non-alcoholic) drinks there.
